Whether it be something minor, such as the voice line changes, or major, such as weapon spawns, the people who played the game for years only did because they liked (at least) almost every part of it. Over that time, people who have been consistently playing the game have grown accustomed to the ins and outs of L4D2. The game has gone almost a decade without a real update, as it says in the Last Stand trailer. Originally posted by vectorman:though i have not played that much l4d (comparatively at least) a way you could look at the broader situation is this: That's all this game is about in the end right? But for me this was a breath of fresh air and a chance for me to give it another go at killing some zombies. I have played this game since I was like 11 and I understand how it feels to see a game become something you might not recognize. then I really am sorry you feel that way. It'll pass, the heat will cool down, and if you really feel cheated because of this update. seems like it is just complaining about anything and everything :) I like having new guns to pick up, especially the MP5 since I think its just a badass weapon anywhere, but they're by no means a bad addition to me.
#LEFT 4 DEAD 2 LAST STAND UPDATE#
but these were essentially indie devs making this update for us so. If it is not polished, and there are bugs and glitches in the game, people will see that and publishers might not be so on board with that. Here's the thing about a developer's wanting to make a good game. Though to be fair, it seems at least some might be working now cause I ran into one on Scavenge once lol. I'm sorry but that was always something discouraging me from giving Versus a try again because those damn people were so rampant. The Last Stand is actually now one of my favorite campaigns to play now. guess that's why I'm not bothered on that front lol.
#LEFT 4 DEAD 2 LAST STAND MOD#
Not a single mod I've used for the past 3-4 years has broken. So seeing so many new Scavenge and Survival maps, even if they are pasted parts of existing campaigns, it makes me happy I like having a variety in this game, whether it be weapons to use or gamemodes to play. I'm glad to see Survival get another chance! And Versus Survival always seemed like something that should've been in the game to begin with. And I'm not challenging what you're saying specifically, these are just thoughts that come to mind. Well here's just some of my own opinions. People, in general, are just going to complain about anything.

Originally posted by Vanessa:Why is it a bad update? Well, I like the update, but from what I've read these are the reasons people don't like it. 3/5 of the CSS weapons are essentially just straight downgrades over their existing counterparts, and people who hate them are split on whether they should be buffed or removed from the game entirely. I'll be honest, this is the one that I can't understand at all.

A lot of people actually enjoy not playing the game so they're upset about this. Certain glitch spots where you are invulnerable have been patched out. A lot of people (Versus players in particular) really enjoy that griefing/trolling aspect of the game and don't like that it's been removed. Since the talker got updated, a lot of vocalizers are currently half-broken, and they removed the ability to spam voice lines like laugh and death scream. The new campaign, while ostensibly just being a glorified Survival map, is only two chapters long, which gives the impression it was just a throwaway little bonus and not something worth making a major update for.

#LEFT 4 DEAD 2 LAST STAND MODS#
Par for the course and not unexpected, but a lot of L4D2 players are very very VERY attached to their mods and even one of their precious Hatsune Miku infected mods breaking immediately makes the game unplayable. The majority of the playerbase prefer Campaign/Versus, so having the big major update after 10 years be mostly just Survival stuff can be super underwhelming. Thus, the update is heavily focused on Survival mode. Jaiz and a lot of the devs of the update team are big on Survival, not so big on Campaign. Why is it a bad update? Well, I like the update, but from what I've read these are the reasons people don't like it.
